Foundations of Medicinal Herbalism
A 12-Month Immersion in Plant Medicine, Holistic Health & Community Herbalism
Format: Prerecorded lessons + live Zoom classes
Length: 12 months
Total Instruction: 240 hours
Foundations of Medicinal Herbalism is a comprehensive year-long program designed to deepen your understanding of medicinal plants, holistic nutrition, and clinical herbal practice. This immersive course empowers you to confidently integrate herbal medicine into daily life—for personal wellness, family care, and community support.
Grounded in Western herbal traditions and guided by Medical Herbalism by David Hoffmann, the curriculum follows a body-systems approach. Each month explores anatomy and physiology alongside the plants, actions, and energetics that support balance and healing. Through prerecorded lessons, live Zoom classes, and guided study, students build a strong foundation in practical, sustainable herbal medicine.
Over 12 months, you will study more than 200 medicinal plants and develop a working knowledge of at least 150 herbs. You’ll learn how to prepare teas, tinctures, syrups, salves, and glycerites using accessible, effective plants for common health concerns.
Clinical application is woven throughout the program. Students practice creating herbal protocols and receive ongoing feedback, building confidence in making thoughtful, informed recommendations. Nutrition education and whole-food principles support a truly holistic approach to health.
By the end of the program, you will have developed a functional herbal medicine model tailored to your values and lifestyle—naturally stepping into the role of a community herbalist.
