Questions and Answers for your consideration:
What is the class size?
Between 10 – 20.
Presently we have 8 fully registered. I am expecting 6 more. It is my first virtual year and excited to get started.
Are there any quizzes or papers to write?
No papers. I do suggest that you take notes on the Green Comfort curriculum notebook you will receive via Google Docs. You can do that on your computer or print it so you have a hard copy. Notetaking helps to imprint the learning.
Then we work through a protocol during our on-line meeting together once a month.
You are responsible to do a protocol on your own which I would want to see, if you want a certificate.
How much access do we have to ask you questions and get support as we move through our studies?
I will be available through email. I will have office hours beginning March 1. Most likely Monday and Tuesday.
If a class is missed due to illness or emergency, can one continue to move forward in their studies? Would there be a make-up or how would that be handled?
When we meet, I will zoom record any and all classes we do together.
The majority of the curriculum is recorded, you will gain access before we meet in March.
You can make up whenever you need to.
I am hoping folks cover one chapter, one body system a month. Our curriculum builds each month. The herbs are similar and actions grow according to system. But missing one and finishing later (after that month is skipped) is easy. You can make up or double up on a month doing two systems.
I have done correspondence courses before internet; it was difficult to self-pace and finish in a timely fashion. My goal for you is to have an interactive class experience where we can speak to one another, you all can reach out to one another outside of our class time. Finishing our projects, presenting the certificates together is a highlight of finalizing a class. I want this for you.
How long a period would we have access to the study material?
You can down load the curriculum. It is yours. You will have your book, Medical Herbalism.
The Vimeo recordings will be up for your class for the year. If you need more time, we will make a plan. I will be here for you to help you succeed.
Dose one graduate as a Community Herbalist?
You will get a “Certificate of Completion.” It can be used to frame and prove you have done a program. The title “Community Herbalist” is something we are using in herbal medicine but really it is up to the graduate when advertising classes, selling home made products, etc., if you want to take on this title.
As for Registered Herbalist (RH) and other categories there is the American Herbalist Guild (AHG) that has two tiers. The herbal education required is about 800 hours to even apply for RH status which is actually for Clinical Herbalists.
Tier one status, says you are a “working herbalist”, business, product maker, teacher and not clinical. New, check it out.
Have a look at the criteria for becoming an herbalist at

Can one move into Clinical online with you afterwards.
I would love to have an on-line clinic. I have been doing more of that lately.
I do invite folks to travel in one day a week to actually see clients, “Herb Clinic Practicum”,
We meet on Thursday right now but may eventually be one Saturday or Sunday a month.
I do plant to teach some very difficult protocols on-line eventually, as Advanced Clinical Protocols, perhaps beginning in the Fall of 2025.
